You can't trust everyone

Hubby and I are in the process of buying a new (to us) car. We have a very firm price limit because we have no desire for a car payment. Today we went to a dealership & a salesman met us in the parking lot asking if he could help us. Hubby told him we were looking for a high gas mileage car and told him our price limit. He took us back to his office wrote down what we were looking for in a car and went back "to see what we have". He came back and said the only car in our price range had just been sold, and would we like to finance something a little newer because "what you have would make a great down payment". Hubby declined and we walked out the door. The guy ran out to our truck and told us they had just found the keys to the car he wanted to show us, if we would wait just a minute they would pull it around for us to see.
Oh really...

Book 13 is finally finished!

My 13th book on my Empty Shelf is "The Great Influenza" by John M. Barry. Well there's a reason they say 13 is an unlucky #, & there's a reason this book took me so long to read. I am normally a fan of nonfiction, I actually had to be conjoled by Hubby to start reading fiction. However, this book was written more like a text book than a story. I learned a lot about the terrible influenza outbreak of 1918-1919, but I was bored to tears. If you are more knowledgeable about medical terms than me, then you will have a better chance of enjoying this book, but if not, then I would say skip it.
I can't wait to start my next book! I'm going to choose something lighthearted after that :)

Update on Our Pit Bull's allergies

Ghost had a follow up vet appt Monday morning to see if we were able to get his allergies under control or if more action was needed.
The first thing the vet said was that she was impressed with how much better he looked! :) that made me sooo happy!
Things have changed about him that I didn't even know were problems!
This is a pic from when we first got him. See those black spots on his face?
They aren't there anymore!
He also no longer wakes up every morning with gunk in his eyes! And he no longer has terrible gas plaguing us everyday!!!
He doesn't eat chicken at all anymore, no plastic toys or food/water dishes, the only allergy we can't keep him away from is grass. So during spring & summer he will be taking 3 Benadryl a day to keep his red eyes & splotchy skin at a minimum. And he is only outside long enough to go potty :)
I am so very grateful for a vet who could look at my pup & know exactly what was wrong & how to fix it!
If you also share your home with a beautiful white pit bull, please make yourself aware of their possible allergies! I had no idea, but now I'm so happy to have a healthy happy pup :)
